Career alignment coaching for when you’re feeling stuck and unfulfilled.
Find clarity. Build confidence. Create change.
I’m Esme, and I’m a career alignment coach.
I work with millennial and Gen Z women who are likely doing well on paper but feel quietly unfulfilled, disconnected, or stuck in their working life. People who have a sense that something about work isn’t quite right anymore, even if they can’t fully articulate what that is yet.
Often, the people I work with aren’t in crisis. They’re capable, thoughtful, and reflective. But they carry a low-level feeling that there should be more than this. That their working life is no longer aligned with who they are or the life they want to be living.
If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
Is this the coaching you need?
You might not hate your job (or maybe you do - thats okay too).
But you don’t feel excited, inspired, or passionate about it either, even though you want to. You might notice a knot in your stomach before work, the Sunday scaries creeping in, or a quiet sense of “this can’t be it”.
You may be doing well on paper. You may be seen as settled, successful, or high-achieving. And yet inside, something feels off.
For some people, the uncertainty is about not knowing what they want to do next. For others, they know what they want but feel unsure how to get there without risking financial safety, disappointing others, or feeling like they’ve failed.
What I see again and again is that these questions aren’t really about jobs. They’re about confidence, identity, values, and what you truly want and need from your life.
What career alignment coaching offers
Career alignment coaching offers space to slow down and listen inward.
From a psychological perspective, feeling stuck or unfulfilled at work is often a sign that something in us is asking for attention. Our nervous system tends to respond first, through unease, lack of motivation, or a sense of misalignment, long before we can think our way to an answer.
In our work together, we take this seriously.
I draw on evidence-based coaching practice, psychology, and an understanding of how our brains respond to stress, uncertainty, and change. This means we work in a way that supports safety, reflection, and self-trust, rather than pressure or forcing decisions.
I don’t believe in rushing clarity. Often, it emerges when you feel regulated enough to hear yourself think again.
That’s the work we do together.
How I work
My coaching style is reflective, supportive, and gently challenging.
I’m an EMCC-accredited coach and ICF-certified, and I work within clear ethical boundaries. Coaching at As Folk is not therapy, but it is depth-oriented and psychologically informed. We look at patterns, beliefs, values, and how your inner world interacts with your working life.
You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want.
You don’t need a five-year plan.
You don’t need to have the right words.
Together, we create space to explore what fulfilment means to you, what kind of working life would support you now, and how your work can better harmonise with the life you want outside of it. The focus is always on alignment rather than pressure, and on change that feels meaningful and sustainable.
About As Folk
As Folk was created from my own experience of career change and growth.
Before training as a coach, I spent many years working in senior HR and leadership roles, supporting people through transition, progression, and change within organisations. That experience shapes how I work now. It means I understand both the practical realities of work and the quieter, more personal side of career decisions.
I don’t believe you need to become someone new to feel fulfilled at work. Often, clarity comes from coming back to who you already are.
Is this the right kind of support?
If you’re feeling lost, unfulfilled, or out of alignment in your working life, and you’re ready to explore that with honesty and care, coaching may be a supportive next step.
If you’re looking for quick fixes, rigid career advice, or someone to tell you exactly what to do, this may not be the right fit.
Taking the next step
If you’re curious about what might be next, a free connection call is a gentle place to start.
There’s no pressure and no expectation. Just space to talk things through and see whether working together feels right.
